Small snowboarder triggered avalanche consistent with 2/16/14 avalanche on red lake peak approxiamtely 300' viewers right on the steep angled ramp entering the main drainage of the bowl above the lake. Our group was aware of the danger, hand pits revealed an 8" to 12" windslab on top of raincrust with a weak layer below the crust.  4th snowboarder triggered the slide but due to his speed and awareness of the snowpack rode on top of the slide for 75 feet before exiting to a safe spot.
