More detailed information about the snowpack:

NE-E winds had affected the exposed N-NE-E aspects in near and above treeline terrain leaving some scoured surfaces and other wind created textures on these slopes. The wind had not affected the more sheltered areas in below treeline terrain and the snow remained soft and unconsolidated on those sheltered slopes. Snowpit data targeting the old facet layers seen in this area on N facing aspects a week ago showed that these layers have consolidated some. Tests indicated that triggering a failure on this layer has become unlikely but that it is still a layer of softer weaker snow.
