Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Strong SW winds existed above 9000' in exposed areas moving moderate amounts of snow.  Wind effected surface snow existed above 8000' on most aspects that were not protected from the recent SE winds and current SW winds.  Firm wind slabs up to 4-6'' were observed along the ridge at 10,000' on E-NE aspects.  These wind slabs did not appear to be reactive with no cracking or signs of propagation on several test slopes.  Cornices were building out but mostly firm and did not fail easily.  Below 8000', small roller ball activity did occur on solar aspects that were over 30 degrees.
