More detailed information about the snowpack:

Significantly less snow existed in this area and elevation range compared to what has been observed along the Sierra Crest in the northern half of the forecast area in recent days. Max HS of 10 cm was observed up to the summit at 9,530'. Below 8,700' snow cover was very sparse and limited to small pockets on true N aspects. All areas below 9,100' were in melt phase with dry snow limited to true N aspects above ~9,200'. Surface melt freeze crust 1-4 cm thick was noted on true N aspects from 9,200' up to the summit at 9,530'. No evidence of faceted snow crystals were observed within the areas of dry snow below the crust.

Photo 1: Looking down from the summit on N aspect. HS generally 7-8 cm.

Photo 2: Looking up same N aspect towards the summit from 9,400'. HS generally 8-10 cm.

Photo 3: Surface melt freeze crust 4 cm thick on N aspect at 9,400'.
