Master the Mountains ~ Decision Making

Event Date:
10/25/2017

The Tahoe Moutain Sports Master the Mountains series is switching gears to  Alibi Ale Works - Truckee Public House! to accommodate a growing audience.

Come at 6 pm for a beer, nachos and best seating. Formal presentation will start at 6:30 pm. Huge raffle with proceeds going to Sierra Avalanche Center.

Get stoked for winter with predictions and trends from a professional National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecaster. With all the crazy hurricanes and earthquakes how will that affect us this winter? The first part of the presentation will talk about what to expect this winter in Tahoe.

Once it snows its time to ski! The decisions you make while backcountry skiing are one of the biggest factors in avalanche incidents. Avalanche professionals from Sierra Avalanche Center and Tahoe Mountain School will talk about how to problem solve real life winter situations. Then there will be break out sessions with maps so you can plan your ski tours and discuss safe choices.

We hope you will join us for this exciting and innovative session which is Part 1 of our Avalanche Education series - Master the Mountain benefitting Sierra Avalanche Center. Check out our Facebook Events Page to attend all 3 sessions.

Special thanks to the presenting sponsor ORTOVOX for making this series possible! For 30 years ORTOVOX has been the most successful producer of avalanche equipment, backpacks and merino outer wear for alpine sports throughout the year. Product available at Tahoe Mountain Sports.
