More detailed information about the snowpack:

Informal observations made between Alpine Meadows Ski Area boundary and Grouse Rocks yielded no evidence of instability. Heavy skier traffic with nearly all trigger points loaded on slopes 30 to 45 degrees in slope angle. Light northeast winds moving small amounts of snow but nothing significant to create new slabs. Avalanche start zones on NE-E aspects above treeline at 8,300' to 8,500' along the ridge received some stiffing of surface slab, but no skier triggered cracking beyond a couple of inches was observed. Some surface hoar noted in wind proteced areas near treeline but not on sunny slopes.
