Avlanche on Mt. Judah and on Old 40

We went to Donner Summit for an intro to mountaineering course. Temps at TH were above freezing but snow in open areas was frozen. Wind was light. Snow near trees was not frozen. We walked up the west slope and found supportable snow. At 9 AM we ventured into ENE terrain and the refreeze had melted off. From Donner Peak we traveled to Mt Judah where I witnessed a cornice collapse that triggered a small wet loose on an East facing slope. By noon the refreeze on North faces had melted off and was no longer supportable. On the drive out I saw another avalanche that had gone into Old 40 almost blocking the West bound lane. The snow bank had collapsed. Likely due to radiant heat from the rock, maybe a small glide avalanche? This warm weather will continue until Monday and I am anticipating the hazard to continue to elevate. If you plan to ski East faces you need to start before dawn. North and West will stay stable for a longer period of time. Peering up at the heart, the ENE side of Donner Summit. I got an eerie feeling that it could become unglued at any moment as the temps continue to be higher.
