More detailed information about the snowpack: 

ECT NR X2 at Mt. Rose Knob on 1.16.10.  Elevation 8,290, NE/E Aspect, 30 Degree Slope.   Ankle-high boot penetration.  Two separate extended column tests produced no results.

Snowpack measured 96 cm deep with the following layers:

96-94cm - Suncrust

94-75cm - Fist

75-65cm - Ice layer (K)

65-57cm - Four fingers

57-55cm - Fist

55-47cm - Four fingers

47-0cm - 1/K
