More detailed information about the snowpack:

The snowpack remains shallow in most places in this area; however, the north and east wind earlier this fall did not scour as much snow away from this area. In the most wind loaded places on the ridge between Castle and Frog Lake patches of deeper snow existed with snow depths of up to 1m. Old snow from last season and exposed rocks were also visible nearby these deeper patches of snow. In the areas where the snowpack was deeper less facetting had occurred and the snowpit tests showed a much more stable snowpack.
