More detailed information about the snowpack:

No signs of current instability observed in Bear Valley sidecountry today. Aspects traveled were S and N-NE generally between 8,300' and 7,300'. Snowpit on S aspect at noted lat/long revealed no signs of problematic instability within recent storm snow. Significant amounts of rain wetted snow exist deeper within the snowpack but appeared well drained. At ridgetop level minor amounts of blowing snow were noted from NE winds, but no new wind slabs were observed. Significant amounts of wind scouring have occurred on N and NE aspects in the area.
