More detailed information about the snowpack:

New snow and wind impacting this area starting in the morning.  By 10am, 1-2'' of new snow had fallen with strong SW winds.  Small wind slabs were forming along the summit ridge 3-5'' in size.  These wind slabs showed failure with hand pits but no propagation results with ECT's.  Cracking was very limited in wind loaded terrain with ski cuts on small slopes showing no signs of slab formation.  Mostly supportable sun crusts could be felt below the new snow on all aspects encountered but North.  The storm was just beginning in this area, with snowfall rates of around 1''/hour.  Snow level appeared to be around 7000'.
