Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Three of four splitboarders rode onto upper portion of slope (40 degrees) one at a time, in partial trees. A large, widespread whomph occurred and sent cracks outward in numerous directions. Approximately 80 yds. downhill and to the side, a two foot crown occurred, spread to 200ft. and slid to about 7,700'. No one was caught in it.
