Solid refreeze on Mt Rose

Given the cloud cover and overnight temps we weren't sure what the ski quality would be in the Mt Rose area this morning.  However, we were pleasantly surprised to find supportable snow conditions and signs of a solid freeze of the snow surface in open areas overnight.  Cloud cover in the morning kept the snow surface reasonably cold until skies cleared around 10:30am.   E-SE-S aspects between 8,000-9200' quickly transitioned to corn snow, while NE-N aspects still held 1-2" of wet surface snow from earlier in the week.  When we returned to the car around 12:30, lower elevations were starting to become unsupportable, especially in treed areas.
