Touchy test slopes along Frog Lake Ridge

About 4 inches of cold and light new snow observed in wind sheltered areas, with close to 2 feet on wind loaded slopes. Test slopes without wind loading produced small sluffs, and wind loaded test slopes produced shooting cracks. Cracks on wind loaded slopes failed both near the surface and near the new/old interface. Cornices along Frog Lake Ridge were large, and wind loading was observed continuously throughout our tour. Winds were mostly from the W, though NW/N/NE winds were also observed. No signs of recent natural avalanches seen, though visibility was poor with brief exceptions. Snow showers came and went along with the visibility.
