More detailed information about the avalanche: 

 Large natural avalances were visible on Ralston's N side Thursday afternoon at 1530.  See associated photos.  Slide activity appeared to be at least a day old but I am not sure about timing as we were viewing from a distance.  Very large crown heights noted, especially the one seen lower on the mountain in the pictures.
