More detailed information about the snowpack:

94 cm of new since March 13.  Lots of graupel in upper layers; needles visible--up to 3 mm in size--in every sample I looked at.  A few point releases and shallow slabs released around Donner Summit just as snowfall was tapering off yesterday.  Cold surface snows quickly warming with depth.  No cracking or collapsing observed.  Second photo is of shallow, soft slab that released and ran into low angle terrain through trees.  This avx occurred 250 m SE of profile location.
