Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Our snowpit was dug to a depth of 142 cm on a North aspect on an 18 degree slope. The December 15 crust was located about 100 cm down. Compression tests and extended column tests were all negative. Shovel sheer tests produced failures above the December crust with quality three fractures. The recent rains saturated the upper 60 cm of the snow. The ice layer from December seemed to be decomposing and becoming uniform with the layer above it.
