These observations document past conditions at a small and variable scale. They are not to be confused with an avalanche forecast. They come from a variety of sources. We can only vouch for the quality of those produced by the SAC forecasters and professional observers.

Luther Pass Area (including Job and Freel) 		Snow covered trees at about 8000 feet on Luther Pass. Poor photo, but the heavy new snow cracked as I undercut it with my ski. Over 9000 foot summit area had obvious wind features. This small cornice broke easily as I skinned near it. Snow depths at and just below summit ranged from 100 - 115 cms Professional Observer
