Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

We toured up Red Lake Peak via Crater Lake and the NE ridge. We dug a pit on the NW aspect, at around 8800 feet and found about 15cm of near surface facets below a detreating crust; however, we did not see any signs of instability (CTN and ECTX). At 2:00pm we entered the NW bowl at around 9300 feet and found great skiing on cold snow. The snow started thickening up at around 9000 feet. By the time we got down to the meadow above Crater Lake (8600 feet) pinwheels and roller balls were plateful. The ski out below Crater Lake was chowder.
