Wind Slab on Janine's

I dug a pit in a small sheltered pocket on the northern end of Janine's Ridge, at approximately 9000 ft. Total snow depth was 190 cm. The top 5 cm were a 1F wind slab, sitting atop a layer of what appeared to be buried surface hoar. 5-20cm consisted of 4F cold, dry snow, and below 20cm the snowpack rapidly turned into cold, consolidated snow.

I attempted to isolate an extended column to test for propogation, however, the slab kept popping out before the I could isolate it.
