Slightly Longer Window for Supportable Snow on Incline Lake Peak

Last night's refreeze lasted longer than previous days. We found a few inches of wet snow on top of a ski supportable melt-freeze crust on SE-S aspects between 8600 ft and 9700 ft until around 10:45 am. We could still poke a pole through the thin refreeze and it would sink several feet into wet snow. On our way back up we noticed that the snow was getting softer and decided to move to a more northerly aspect. On N and NE aspects the snow surface was wet but somewhat supportable until 11 am. After that time, it became wet, sticky, and punchy. On the way out the snow was no longer supportable and we stuck to low angle slopes. We did ski cut a small test slope on an E aspect at 11:20 am which caused a small loose wet sluff that entrained the top 6-8 inches of wet snow.
