Observation from Incline Lake Peak Area

We toured around Incline Lake Peak today to assess conditions in this area.  Snow coverage was mostly supportable and adequate on northerly aspects above 8600' and was suspect on some rocky E aspects we encountered at lower elevations.  At our high point at 9600', we dug a snowpit that showed a mostly well bonded snowpack.  We did note some weakness with the bond to the ground producing CT results, but this was limited to areas with smooth ground cover.  Overall, the snowpack continues to settle and gain strength.  Potential surface instabilities have developed in the form of surface hoar and near surface facets and will have to be monitored, but these will not pose an issue until we get our next storm.
