2000 ft avalanche on South side of Slide Mountain

Had been skiing the South side of Slide in Hank's Bowl for a rew runs and the sun was intense. Each run the linkage between old and new snow become weaker judging from the small sloughts out of the turns. When I skied the gut I had a feeling it would cut loose and intentionally put some juice in the turn to see if it would go with a nice escape zone to my left. The slab actually calved off above me by 30' or so but I was easily able to outpace it when it first started and scoot left into a safe position. It ran a long long way and picked up speed as it went running toward Ophir Creek. The next run slopes less than 30 degrees were showing more instability and I imagine the sun continued to do its work and naturals were triggered in the early afternoon.
