Andesite tour

Toured up andesite with an intro to backcountry class. The day started with rain at the trailhead and turned to moderately heavy snowfall during the day. Snow was heavy and moist. Air temp was above freezing all day (35F). Noticed two inversions on the drive to the TH at 0700 at 5900' and then 6300'

Dug a hasty demo pit (total snow depth 85cm), snow showed evidence of compressing slightly since yesterday.

Facet layer is still present and still shows no cohesion. 

At 1320 we noticed pinwheels/cinnamon rolls forming in open areas where solar radiation was still having an effect despite the cloud cover.
