Wind-effect on Hidden Peak

Went for a tour up Hidden Peak this morning; snow was consolidating but soft on the lower NE facing pitch. Did notice some slight MF crust on the way up (and down) on more open SE facing aspects around 8400 ft. Was calm below treeline but as soon as we got near the top could see blowing snow (winds out of the SW). Some wind effect (punchy windslab) further down in the trees than we expected, maybe from the NE winds a few days ago. The nearer to the top, the more we found pretty significant wind features (smooth pillows, ridges, etc). We were pretty sheltered from the wind until the very top, from there we could see blowing snow off all the peaks in Desolation too. Winds were ~20 mph, gusts up to 25. (See video.). Took our time skiing down the top few hundred feet in punchy slabs; did get one small wind slab to pop out, but was on very low angle slope, minor propagation maybe a foot or two from my ski tip. The rest of the ski below treeline on NE facing slopes was boottop soft snow, a little heavier here and there at the lower elevations and where trees were more open.
