Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

HST: 75 cm (southern), 105 cm (northern)

Weather: southerly winds light to moderate at ridge top 9200', S-1 increasing at 1700 to S1 (graupel), fog

Snow today was very dense and stiffened noticably during the day. The snow on northern aspects was beginning to fracture near the skin track foreshadowing a stiffening storm slab, thin wind slabs were present in exposed areas near ridge tops.

In exposed areas a wind affected snow was present and stiffened noticeably during the day.

Riming indicates that northerly winds were present on N Fireplug during the precipitation on 2/24
