Hey y'all.
I was hiking around today, and I managed to purposefully kick off several very sensitive wind loads. The one pictured was around noon today, on a northeast aspect at around 8000 ft in the deep creek drainage. This wind deposited layer ran on the rain crust with crown depths of around 2 feet, down to just a few inches. This was on a cut bank of one of the many old roads in the area, it only ran about 25 feet before stopping on the flat of the road... The new snow is significantly denser than that from last week, resulting in some upside down feeling snow conditions... It was snowing hard, and the winds were gusting in the 50+ mph range.
