More detailed information about the avalanche:

This slide was observed from the road on 4/13/16. Details about this avalanche remain unknown. It is likely that it occurred on Monday or Tuesday when sunshine caused the storm snow to warm up and become wet. Driving between Emerald Bay and South Lake Tahoe I saw several other wet avalanches that started on upper elevation E aspects and some NE and SE aspects in the mountains in the Desolation Wilderness that looked similar to this one and likely occurred at a similar time.
