More detailed information about the avalanche: 

These avalanches were observed off of the Mt. Rose Highway or from the Tamarack Peak area on Jan 14.  All of these avalanches were thought to have occurred on or before Wednesday Jan 11 during the recent large storm that impacted our area.  All of these were natural deep slab avalanches that were partially covered up by additional storm snow.   Deep slab avalanches occurred on a variety of aspects and elevations throughout this storm cycle.
