More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Did some probing around the 8800ft to 9200 ft level. The areas were sheltered from the wind that did exist today. Mostly soft snow about 6 inches deep to a pretty uniform resistance snowpack. A bit of give just before ground level which was about 4 feet deep average in the dozen or so places I probed.
