More detailed information about the snowpack: 

pit: CT failures below rain crust were a surprise and not consistent with other observations

pic: A ski cut placed adjacent to pit location produced a narrow channel of sluff that carried through flatter terrain below, and into steeper terrain beneath trees. Although this travelled several hundred feet, it never initiated propagation, nor did it produce enough debris to bury a person.
