More detailed information about the snowpack:

Warm, wet day at Carson Pass. Thin MF / rime crust on all aspects observed (up to 8900ft). Very little wind transport due to heavy, wet snow.

pic: settlement cones even on shaded aspects. Test slopes, mitt pits, and an ECT at different location from pit (8600ft, 60 degree aspect, 30 degree slope) pointed towards settlement and good stability.

pit: adjacent to natural R1 D1 slab from Sat/Sun, that failed close to the 24cm interface identified in pit. Mixed DFbk and Graupel layer consistent with observations elsewhere.
