Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snowpit dug in lower elevation shallow snowpack to examine wet snow. Pit was dug below treeline in 100' x 100' open area. Snowpack was isothermal in some sections near the top and bottom. Despite some wet layers, very little free water was visible under magnification. Compression test failures immediately bonded, making the upper failed portion impossible to remove. Despite warm temps, light rain, and fog over the past few days, the snowpack is holding strength.
