Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

LTCC AIARE L2 class dug 8 snowpits in open yet wind sheltered, below treeline N facing terrain today. Jan 11 crust found 150cm to 200cm below surface. Appx 1cm of graupel and rimed stellars fell midday. New snow ceased after graupel layer.

 

16 CTs and 16 ECTs were performed in the 8 pits. Although interfaces within storm snow were easy to moderate to intitiate failures with CTs (Q2 and Q3), ALL ECTs scored ECTN - no propogation observed.

 

I ski cut 1 very steep convex roll undercut by ski tracks, with no results - not even a sluff. 18 people skied slope with no cracking, whumphs or sluffs.
