More detailed information about the snowpack:

2 stability test videos done directly adjacent to my observations from 2009-12-24.  7724', north facing, 38 degree slope, HS=98cm at this location today.  While there are still some angular faceted crystals at the base of the snowpack the majority has begun to round and gain much strength.  2x ECTX and PST 78/100 END down 98cm on basal layer.  Propagation is no longer likely on this layer in this location.

My snowpit profile was from another location in the area with HS=130cm, this seemed to be a more representative look at the snowpack in this area above 7500'.  No basal facets found at this location, most layers bonded together very well with rounding process throughout.  Overall a stable snowpack.

Photo #1: Surface roller balls on steep north facing terrain <7500'.  Snow surface was moist and sticky from the warm temps.

Photo #2: Basal layer adjacent to my 2009-12-24 profile.
