Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Sun, warm temps, and a weaker refreeze last night allowed melting to continue deeper into the snowpack today. 3-6 inches of soft wet snow existed above a supportable layer of melt-freeze snow. Some skier triggered roller balls and wet snow sluffs did occur on the most sun exposed test slopes. Skiers in the parking lot also reported wet snow instabilities on the south facing chutes on Jake's Peak. Neither the wet snow instabilities on Maggie's nor those reported on Jake's entrained enough snow to bury a person; however, they did involve enough snow to push someone off course.
