More detailed information about the snowpack: 

1-3 inches of new wet snow had fallen above 7500 ft at some point during the day. This snow had also been rained on for most of the afternoon as snow level climbed back up to above 8000 ft. Ski cuts on steep N-NE-E facing aspects produced wet snow sluffs and roller balls that entrained all of the new snow and about 1-2 inches of the old wet snow.

When I stepped off of my skis, I sank into wet snow up to my shins or knees on all aspects up to 8000 ft. in this area.
