More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Aspects facing the southern half of the compass in this area had large widespread runnels that formed during the last few days of warming. These runnels were up to 1ft deep in places. Several point release slides and roller balls from previous days also still existed on these aspects. Today only 4-5 inches of wet snow formed on top of a supportable frozen crust by 3 pm. Shortly after this the snow surface started to refreeze. By 4:30 pm on SE aspects this refrozen crust would already support a skier. On the more northerly aspects a melt freeze crust existed in many areas.
