More detailed information about the snowpack: 

A breakable wind crust existed on the semi-exposed northerly aspects that still had snow in this area. On the more open and exposed slopes bare ground had been exposed by strong N-NE-E winds earlier this fall. The snowpack continues to facet where it exists. Facets in the Mt. Rose backcountry are more developed than in other parts of the forecast area.
