Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

SW-S-SE sun-exposed aspects remained mostly frozen through mid-day between 6600 ft and 8200 ft. In the most sun exposed areas, the top .5-1 inches of the snow surface did soften by 1pm. Anything that did not receive direct sunshine remained very hard and very frozen. Not enough melting occurred at any location in this area for wet snow instabilities to form. On the NW-N-NE-E aspects a mix of breakable crusts, supportable crusts, wind scoured surfaces, and some patches of soft snow existed. Observations showed signs of a mostly stable snowpack.
