Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Photo: A little bit of blowing snow during gusts along the east ridge of Silver Peak. West winds were wrapping around the peak and scouring a small amount of snow from near treeline N aspects. I could not find any measurable deposition of wind transported snow in lee areas along the south side of the ridge.

Convective cooling from winds were keeping the snow surface from melting very quickly in sun exposed areas. Minimal melting on SE-S aspects at 12:30pm. Thin melt freeze surface crust on E aspects above 7,000' remained frozen in this area.
