Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

A variable crust exists below 7400 ft on all aspects in this area. On the sun-exposed aspects frozen melt-freeze conditions existed up to 9000 ft. Between 7400 ft and 8800 ft, a few inches of soft snow remained on the shaded and sheltered north aspects. Above 8800 ft the N-NE-E aspects held a firm wind scoured surface.

Hand pits and ski cuts indicated that the bonds holding the most recent snow to the old crusts are continuing to strengthen. Observations also showed the facets below the old rain crust starting to round and gain strength.
