More detailed information about the snowpack: 

NSFs observed elsewhere this week also exist in this area. Mild temps, and light snowfall yesterday under mild temps, are clearly causing these grains to round.

Pit: Not a very strong temperature gradient at the surface.

Pic: Rimed, wind scoured surface on N/NE aspect above 9000ft.

Wind loading from yesterday's snow is localized and generally below 9000ft. No signs of current instability.

Dense, low cumulus clouds observed until mid morning when sky cleared. Resultant riming on trees and snow surface observed above 9000ft.
