More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Recent E winds had scoured snow near and above treeline from NE aspects in this area creating sastrugi up to 1 foot tall and scouring down to patches of pre storm melt freeze crust.

Photo 1: ECTN result from snowpit graphed above. Blue marker is at the old snow surface. Red marker is at the base of the wind slab that formed overnight from E wind loading.

Photo 2: Reverse cornice formation on the W side of the summit ridge.

Photo 3: Wind scoured NE aspect just above treeline. This was the fetch for the pit location. No scouring below treeline.

Photo 4: Skier triggered cracking on test slope adjacent to and prior to snowpit data collection.
