Photos 1 through 3: Patches of old snow near Tinker's Knob on N-NE aspects between 8,300' and 8,700'.

Photo 4: More patches of old snow on other northerly aspects in the area just to the north of Granite Chief.

Patches are a mix of knife hard melt freeze snow remaining from the Oct 4-6 storm event and hold over ice hard snow/ice patches from last winter. There is no evidence of significant faceting in this snow. There is no weak layer present, but these patches act as a fairly efficient bed surface in many areas.
