More detailed information about the snowpack:

Marginal freeze if any last night but with radiational cooling with the clear night the snowpack had a very supportable surface crust.  South winds were moderate and into the strong range above 10,000'.  All aspects above 9200' remained firm into the midday, below 9200' was nice corn snow conditions.  There were some pockets of soft unconsolidated snow on protected N/NE aspects above 9200'.  No signs of wet snow instabilities today, a stable snowpack observed in this area.

Photo:  NW/W aspects scoured down to firm melt freeze crust, 9000-10200'.

Video:  Isolated areas of near surface facets on protected N/NE aspects above 9200'.  Most areas encountered in this area had a very thin surface crust on top.
