Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

A stable snowpack exists on northerly aspects in this area. Similar to observations from other areas, faceting is occurring below the surface rain crust. The rain crust itself is weakening and allowing for much less difficult travel in this area. NW winds were wrapping around the peak and scouring the 2 inches of new snow from the upper portion of northerly aspect avalanche start zones. Winds were redistributing this snow onto southerly aspects. Evidence of this is visible in the photo as far as snow on the ground. No wind slabs of any significance were noted in this area on traveled N-E-S aspects near and above treeline.
