More detailed information about the snowpack:

Even though more snow exists on the northerly aspects in this area than in many other places in the forecast area, snow coverage on northerly aspects above 7000 ft remains patchy. A rain crust between .5 and 4 inches thick existed all the way up to 8300 ft where ever snow existed in this area. In many places the snow below this rain crust has become much stronger and more stable than it was before the warm weather; however, a few areas existed at the higher elevations where facets have formed underneath the recent rain crust. Some weak facets also existed at the base of the snowpack in a few places at these higher elevations.
