More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Dry snow at 0900 quickly turned into very wet snow by 1130, with roller balls the size of tires preceding our tracks. Didn't see any apparent instabilities, just rollerballs started by skiers or snow falling from trees. A quick pit dug at the peak showed a significant facet layer at the ground with no rain or slush layer anywhere above, just consolidated snow 1F hard.
