More detailed information about the snowpack:

The snowpack in this area is well faceted. Facets are most well developed on northerly aspects and shaded areas. The layer of concern was buried Nov 8 by the Nov 8-10 snowfall event. At this time the overlying slab is too soft and brittle to sustain propagation in response to weak layer collapse. A change in characteristics of the overlying slab (such as loading by high density new snow) may allow this weak layer to become more reactive.
